Invitation Round for 189
The Department of Home Affairs has officially announced an upcoming invitation round for the Skilled Independent (Subclass 189) visa – Points-Tested Stream, scheduled to take place on 13 November 2025.
The Skilled Independent (Sc 189) visa is one of the most sought-after permanent residency pathways for skilled professionals who are not sponsored by an employer, state, or family member. Invitations for this visa are issued based on a competitive points system, where applicants with higher scores and in-demand occupations receive priority consideration.
Given the approaching round, it is crucial that all Expressions of Interest (EOIs) in SkillSelect are current and accurately updated. We strongly advise all clients to review their EOIs to ensure:
